Announcements:

January 2008

We have installed the new tax software, attended training for the new tax law and are ready to assist our clients with both Federal and State Tax issues. A number of changes have taken place in tax law and procedures for 2008.

February 2008

We again had a booth at The Greater Bristol Chamber of Commerce Home and Business Show in Bristol. We had the opportunity to inform senior citizens and others of the government rebate program passed by Congress in February 2008 and the importance in filing a tax return for 2007.

March 2008

We had a booth at the Newington Chamber of Commerce 16th Annual Home and Business Showcase at Newington High School. The event was held on Saturday March 29, 2008. Several of our associates were at the booth and met with existing clients and other visitors to the show..

April 2008

The due date for Individual Tax Returns (Form 1040) is April 15, 2008 as is the date for the State of CT Individual Tax Returns. An Extension of Time to File (Form 4868) should be electronically filed by the due date or postmarked by that date. For more information read the instructions for Form 4868. If you want our firm to file the extension for you call us as soon as possible.

The first estimated tax payments for 2008 to IRS and the State of CT was due on April 15, 2008.

May 2008

If you filed for an extension of time to file your tax returns call us to make an appointment to come in so that we can prepare the returns.  As you know the IRS Stimulus Payment (check) will only be sent to you by the government AFTER the 2007 tax return is filed.  So the sooner you file the sooner you will receive your check.

If your income or deductions have changed or if you have had a change in your life (marriage, retirement) or your business (for self-employed or corporate business owners) it may impact your taxes.  Contact us to discuss how these changes impact both your taxes and your life.  Planning for the future is important at any time in your life and with changes in mortgages, interest rates on investments, higher real estate tax, etc. it may be time to sit down and discuss what is best for you.  Remember that we do NOT sell any investment products so we can be objective and provide you with another opinion.

June 2008

The second payment of Federal and State estimated tax payments are due generally June 15 for IRS and CT.
