The firm was established in Hartford in 1953. Our office has been located in Newington since 1989 having previously been located in Wethersfield since 1975. As a result of a merger with Bert Rouleau CPA in Bristol we also have a Bristol office. Both offices are open year round.
We are open Monday - Friday in Newington and a more limited off-season schedule in Bristol. Call the office for more information. To make an appointment give us a call. As an IRS approved electronic filer we can file tax returns electronically including both Federal and State tax returns. We can also prepare prior year tax returns for you (business or individual) as well as amend or correct tax returns you have already filed. Payment can be made by Master Card, Visa, Discover Card and American Express.
Staff and associates maintain their knowledge and skills by attending workshops, seminars and college courses in taxes and business topics annually to provide service to our clients. This includes seminars and workshops conducted by the CT Society of Public Accountants (CSCPA) and area colleges and universities. We can provide the knowledge and experience to help you with your business financial and tax issues or assist you as an individual with your financial and tax issues. Personal year round service is how we operate. We are available year round with two local offices.

Our focus is on providing local personal service and we provide a professional staff and year round service for our clients. We are open year-round. We do provide electronic filing of tax returns and with direct deposit of any refunds you have your money usually within several weeks of the tax returns being filed without paying extra fees.

An example of service to our clients:
A senior citizen wanted to know how to reduce the amount of real estate tax she pays to the city she lives in. As a result of changes in her personal circumstances her income has been reduced and we prepared the paperwork for her to file with the local tax assessor in her community resulting in a $ 500 reduction in her annual real estate tax payments. Although this is not applicable to everyone if you qualify it is a real savings to you. We understand this and can help our clients with this type of filing as well. In addition to the State of CT. benefit some cities and towns also provide an additional benefit to local residents. In this particular case it was an additional $ 150 reduction in real estate tax for the year. Total real estate tax savings for this resident $ 650 in 2012.

Several years ago a client decided to close her business and move out of the area. We advised the client to consider selling the business and assets. She did and received money for the business, the assets and a payment to stay on with the business for a period of time for a transition. The result thousands of dollars to our client where she had initially planned on not making any money on the closing of her business. We can discuss your situation one on one with you and consider various possibilities before you make any important business or financial decision.
