The deadline for filing individual income tax was Tuesday April 15, 2008. Most state tax returns are also due on April 15, 2008. If you did not file your tax return or an extension by April 15 then it is time to prepare and file the tax return(s) as soon as possible. This may reduce any related penalties and interest if you have a balance due. If you want us to prepare your tax returns call us. We are open year-round to assist you.

On February 13, 2008 IRS announced that people on Social Security must file a 2007 Federal Tax Return in order to receive the $ 300 or $ 600 rebate checks in May/June 2008. This applies even if no tax is due. For further information check the IRS website at www.irs.gov We can help senior citizens and disabled veterans with filing a Tax Return in order to obtain the special tax rebate.
For more information contact us or your tax professional or the IRS website at www.irs.gov
Rebate checks are anticipated to be mailed beginning in May.
Congress has made a number of changes to the tax laws including the alternative minimum tax. We have reviewed the tax changes, and installed the new tax software in order to prepare accurate federal and state tax returns for you whether you are filing as an individual or you have a business , partnership or corporation.
The 2007 Edition of "Your Federal Income Tax" (IRS Publication 17) is now available to download from our download page. The 2008 W-4 Form is also available to download if you need to change your federal tax withholding for 2008. Several other publications are also available for viewing or downloading.
For most existing FDM clients "Tax Organizers" have been prepared and mailed to you. If you are an existing client and have not received a "Tax Organizer" call us and a customized organizer can be sent to you.
Just a reminder that if you claim itemized deductions for charitable contributions the new law takes effect for 2007 tax returns. The law now requires receipts, cancelled checks or other proof of the amount of charitable contributions you made during the year. If you have any questions about this new requirement imposed by Congress ask us during your appointment.
